The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have asked me to
write to thank you and your colleagues from Beacon
Millennium for all that you did to ensure that the
lighting of the National Millennium Beacon was such a
great success on Friday evening.
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness thought that the
event was executed in a faultless manner and that the
overall effect was most memorable. The lighting of the
beacon was, justifiably, a focal point of the
Millennium Eve celebrations and one that will long be
recalled by those of us who were fortunate enough to be
present.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh send their warm
good wishes and congratulations to you an all those
connected with this landmark project.
